Fostering Community Connections in Lisbon: A Local Perspective

Lisbon, with its rich history and dynamic culture, is home to numerous community initiatives that bring residents together, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual support. These organizations play a pivotal role in enhancing the city’s social fabric.

Empowering Young Leaders

The Rotaract Club of Lisbon connects passionate young individuals for community service and leadership development, fostering global impact through local actions in a diverse and welcoming environment.

Supporting Migrants and Refugees

The Lisbon Project works to put in place high-impact, cost-effective programs that support migrants and refugees. And in all of our work, we focus on community.

Promoting Digital Inclusion

Balcão do Bairro is a community-based walk-in service desk in Lisbon, designed to improve access to digital services by assisting those who struggle with using digital platforms, while providing computers and internet access for those who prefer to navigate them independently.

Advocating for Climate Action

Climate Circle Lisbon is a community-led initiative building meaningful connections since 2022. In a work done by the community, for the community, we bring people together via regular events, peer exchange, and collaboration.

Building Entrepreneurial Networks

Startup Grind Lisbon is a community of entrepreneurs, creatives, innovators, and investors building an inclusive and progressive ecosystem out of Lisbon. We do this by exchanging experiences, supporting each other, learning, and growing together.

These initiatives, among others, exemplify the spirit of community in Lisbon. They provide platforms for residents to connect, support one another, and contribute to the city’s ongoing development. Engaging with these organizations not only enriches individual experiences but also strengthens the collective identity of Lisbon’s diverse population.
